Exercise

1/30/2022:
Today my wife and I are going skiing with my son and granddaughter (age 3) here in Vermont. My wife and son are excellent skiers and my granddaughter has been taking lessons and loves to ski. This will be the first time being with her skiing. I have had a double knee replacement and since I did not ski for most of my life my surgeon advised that I not ski. We are going to a very small mountain, so my son or wife will release my granddaughter and I will catch her. Not a bad job.

The reason I should not ski is that beginners put a lot of strain on joints and ligaments that accomplished skiers do not. I also asked him about cross country skiing and he also advised against. I did not ask him about snow shoeing. Our place in Vermont is on Lake Champlain, which is very frozen at the moment. I see people cross country skiing on it. Maybe I can as well. After all it is a very flat surface and probably not very demanding.
