I have a website hosted by GoDaddy. When it was time to renew the managed WordPress site and I saw the cost of renewal, I opted not to renew. I still have the domain but there is nothing on the website. On the GoDaddy site I do not think I got one legitimate comment or like on my blog. I subscribed to a service to manage spam, another cost. I did get hundreds of spam comments. Clearing these out was a hassle. I recently started a free WordPress.com website to start blogging regularly. I have had a small amount of positive comments and likes and no spam so far. Managing the site is otherwise pretty much the same. Starting here seems like starting in a simpler place, less overwhelming. I will continue to tinker with this site for a bit but will probably upgrade to a paid version. This is a good service and I would like to support it.
