Ryan North, in his book “How to Take Over the World”, on page 225 says “‘Old age’ is not what kills you; it’s cancer or heart disease or Alzheimer’s or pneumonia or one of the hundreds of other ailments, diseases, and infections we’ve identified and named …”. David Sinclair, in his book Lifespan: “Why We Age – and Why We Don’t Have to” explains that aging is a disease and that disease is treatable.
Is aging the disease or just a symptom? Who is right? The evidence seems to point Ryan’s way, but David and the other scientists in the field of aging are pretty high-powered. Should be interesting.
In Ryan’s book on page 251 he goes on to say “But there are those today who believe they know what technologies we need to solve this problem, and if we develop them, and everything goes as planned, it could be possible to stop aging at the cellular level; to repair, replace, or remove the parts of the body that cause us to grow old, and in doing so become functionally immortal.”
