This afternoon, I designed my first project from scratch using Fusion 360, a stand for my planer. I found a design I liked from a You Tuber, Daniel Demir (video at Thickness Planer Stand). I modified Daniel’s design dimensions to my needs and lost myself for a few hours in the design. The design is not perfect, but certainly close enough for the build.

I have found my Fusion 360 skills becoming much better. I have been watching a number of YouTube instructors, most recently The Fusion Essentials. Justin Geis, in his beginner videos, keeps it very basic. I am now comfortable enough in the program to start to wander in on my own. As in learning other programs (or anything), once someone is starting to use the program as a tool, additional skills are acquired slowly but steadily.
