I asked my son, an excellent writer, for his comments on my blog post “The Comfort Crisis” (https://deangelis.tech/2024/04/15/the-comfort-crisis/), which used AI and my notes and highlights to analyze the book. Our conversation helped clarify my thinking, but raised more questions. My initial concern was that I might be doing the book’s author a disservice by publishing my analysis. Would readers of my post be more or less likely to read the book? Could the post act like a teaser with a view towards affiliate links?
My son found the summary dry. I find that I don’t think I understand the concept of “dry” writing. I question whether I can currently evaluate any writing for the qualities of that writing. Do you consciously evaluate the quality of writing when you read?
