I have mentioned Derek in an earlier post about my cherry/purpleheart dining room table. In this short clip from his most recent YouTube video, you see his stone kitchen sink.
I have been impressed by Derek’s metalworking and blacksmithing, and am amazed by his stoneworking skills.

Is there something in particular that you admire in Derek’s work? Something he does better or more interesting than others in this space?

I admire many aspects of his work. The level of skill in many areas. His imagination. His commitment to the community and willingness to help. He recently made a Harley firepit and donated it to a cancer charity for an annual event. It received $1700 at auction. The previous year he made a similar firepit and it sold for $2300. He is making the base of my latest table, and I look forward to sharing that.
